A Curly Haired Bride - Christine
Hello! And welcome! I’m Ruth, your local to Los Angeles, mobile hairstylist and makeup artist! Curly haired brides are some of the most gorgeous, but also some of the most hesitant brides I’m privileged to work with. And aptly so, as most hairstylists don’t understand curly hair and how to work and style it. When I was younger (ahh the college years) my hair embraced it’s natural wave and went full-on curly. I was blessed for a few years (before my hair changed again) to have beautiful curl and movement! This was the start of my understanding of textured hair and how to work with it. Since then I’ve had many a beautiful bride whom I’ve had the honor of styling their beautiful curls for some of their most memorable moments!
Christine was a referral from a previous client (Thank you previous curly bride Jodi!) We chatted back and forth through email, and Christine decided we were a good match for her day. During the trial we discussed Christine’s vision and what she wanted makeup and hair to look like and emulate. (Christine was getting married at Walnut Grove wedding venue, a venue I know well!)
Hiring a hair and makeup artist for naturally textured hair can seem
scary and intimidating, but Christine not only trusted me but was so happy with her final look! I loved creating this soft, romantic look that accentuated Christine’s natural beauty and hair texture and encouraged her confidence to shine through, highlighting her authentic self on her wedding day!
Curly hair is definitely a versatile texture, allowing you to do every style your straighter haired ladies can do! Curly hair has the advantage though, of it’s natural texture, and I love enhancing my curly haired brides, from the tightest curl to the softest waves!
