Business Concept Magazine Cover Photoshoot with Anita Pinto

I recently had the pleasure of working on a shoot with the fabulous, Anita Pinto! Hello, I’m 10+ year hair and makeup artist Ruth B Medrano! Working with entrepreneurs is no strange work environment for me. I’m often privileged to be in the company of passionate and determined women! Working with Anita was no different! Her drive to be a successful entrepreneur provided her the opportunity to be Business Concept Magazine’s May Covergirl!!

As I arrived to the shoot I was the first to arrive with the wardrobe stylist. We chatted as the makeup artist and photographer arrived. Then Anita arrived and with her presence came a kindness and excitement for the next few hours that lay ahead of us! After introductions Anita went right into wardrobe and glam. The wardrobe stylist presented racks of clothing which the ladies went through to find the right looks for the magazine piece. Once the looks were chosen, Anita walked into hair and makeup, where we were ready for her with ideas for what beauty would compliment the looks best. From there we were off! For this magazine spread, I was lead hairstylist on the shoot. I started by creating soft, Kim Kardashian inspired wavy effortless hair. We would start out with this style and then move to a different style as the outfits changed.

To begin styling I prepped Anita’s hair with a good spritz of Color Wow’s Extra Shine Spray. This spray is great as a prep spray because it’s not only a great product for adding shine, but heat protection as well! I then proceeded with my 1” barrel Paul Mitchell curling iron creating mismatching waves. I finished with a bit of Color Wow’s Style on Steroids to add texture and Cult Favorite hairspray for hold. To the ends, I added some Color Wow Pop & Lock to the ends to add a little moisturizing element.

Once hair and make were finished, wardrobe got Anita styled up and our capable photographer officially started our photoshoot! Anita quickly got comfortable in front of the camera and starting creating some great photos!

So good right? To finish off our shoot and give us that magazine cover shot, we decided to switch up the hair look by pulling Anita’s gorgeous blonde hair back into a low ponytail. I secured Anita’s low pony with a stretchy ponytail band and wrapped a strand of her hair around the band to add that professional touch! I added a bit more of Color Wow’s Style on Steroids and Cult Favorite hairspray to refresh the look. To lift the style to the next level, our fabulous wardrobe stylist presented a glam headband to add to the style! And the rest is magazine cover history!
